Non Woven Slitting Machine | Precision, Auto-Tension & High Yield

Overview of Non Woven Slitting Machine

The slitting machine was developed specifically for use in the modern nonwoven industry. It allows for a precision, stability and high-efficiency conversion of nonwoven fabric roll stock into various widths, as well as providing an adjustable knife system, automatic tension control and servo driven winding to process lightweight through heavy nonwoven materials with minimal fiber distortion. A sturdy frame minimizes vibration during operation, an integrated edge detection system helps to protect the operators, and safety interlocks comply with local safety regulations. With its user-friendly Human Machine Interface (HMI), the machine allows for quick setup, adjustment of blade gap, and monitoring of real-time tension, speed, and roll diameter during production, thus allowing for optimal performance.

Advantages of Non Woven Slitting Machine

High-Precision Slitting

Our slitting operation uses razor-sharp blades and a closed-loop tension control to achieve consistent slit widths across all rolls, with a minimum of edge burrs and fiber displacement;

Versatile Material Handling

The machine is built to process a wider variety of non-woven types than ever before; it can process products with varied basis weights, different textures and a wide variety of roll diameters.

High Throughput and Automation

Integrated PLC controllers are used to synchronize Knife actuation, tensioning, and winding speed for a seamless process.

Low Maintenance and Cost Efficiency

Designing a strong mechanical system with replaceable parts and advanced trouble-shooting allows for the shortest time of being out of service (i.e., less maintenance) and lower costs associated with this period of time.

Non Woven Slitting Machine

This Machine is a non woven slitting machine that was created to support both converter and manufacture operations for spunbond, meltblown, and SMS materials. It has a heavy-duty machine frame with precision knife assemblies, programmable tension zones, servo-driven winders, and an advanced operator interface. The tension system is closed-loop with feedback from dancer arms and load cells to provide consistent web tension during roll changes, reducing elongation and edge marking on even the most delicate fabrics.

The knife holders are easily adjustable to allow quick switchovers from narrow to wide slitting without compromising safety or precision. The unwinders and rewinders support core sizes from 1" to 6" and have coreless options as well, with optional rewind torque control and programmable brake settings to customize the winding profile for downstream equipment. Safety features include emergency stops, light curtains, and interlocks on access doors. Optional accessories to the machine include in-line printing, perforation, longitudinal scoring, and auto-splices to further integrate the process.

F&Q About Non Woven Slitting Machine

What materials can the machine slit?

For any type of non-woven material, such as Spunbond, Meltblown, SMS, Composed etc., the equipment processes many types.
Depending on the type, machines come with an extensive range of web widths from very small diameters to many metres wide with a maximum unwind diameter usually around 1000 mm.
Some examples of key safety features are emergency stop devices, optical safety sensors, interlocks on access doors, and guarding around rotating knives, which are permanently mounted to the machine to prevent operators from accessing the dangerous moving parts during machine operation.
Yes, optional modules may be added to machines by providing inline printing, perforation and perforation spacing control.
